Mapping drum pads in Garageband I need a little help with my MIDI keyboard (Akain MPK mini mkII), (DAW: Garageband). The keys work great, but I don't know how to assign the pads to the sounds I want to play (drum kits). IPad GarageBand with MIDI gear There's lots of opinions about GarageBand hitting the net so I'm not planning to rant about missing features or whatever. I just want to talk about my experiences of hooking up some MIDI gear to it. Sep 23, 2019 If you want to work with the musical notes in GarageBand for your song, you can show, add, and edit notes. In GarageBand on Mac, you can work with notes for MIDI regions and on iOS, you can work with them for green touch instrument regions.

Garageband Ipad Midi Mapping Software
I have plugged in my electronic drums to the iMac via USB and while most of the drum sounds have mapped correctly (snare, floor Tom, hi hat) the crash cymbal and one of the toms triggers the wrong drum sound in GarageBand.
I’m trying to work out how to make the physical drum hit trigger the correct drum sound...I.e make the crash cymbal map to a crash Cymbal sound.
I am just using the default GarageBand midi drum kits and also a free plug in...both have the same issue albeit the mapping is different with different kits.
I have searched high and low and cannot work out how to fix this - please help.
I am using a very old Mac - so old that I can’t use Midipipe which I have read may be the software I need.
If I move from the Mac to an iPad, can I map the drums to particular drum sounds in GarageBand? I’m thinking I might be better off scrapping the ancient iMac and just going with an iPad.
Thanks in advance.
